Tomato Time

The tomatoes are ripe and it is time for Caprese Salad. This is a 5 Minute Prep Salad.  Seriously! We are having the Froehlich family reunion this weekend and picking fresh tomatoes and basil is part of the fun. We are celebrating summer in full swing here and nothing is more special to me than being with family and eating fresh food, especially from the garden.  We have family in from all over the country, but we are grounded in our appreciation of vine-ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, basil leaves, topped with fresh basil pesto, reduced balsamic vinegar, and extra virgin olive oil.  Bon Appetito!

Many thanks to my beautiful sister-in-law Lyn! She and Jim made sure that all of the Froehlichs had a fun, fabulous, and food-filled family reunion! Lyn prepared many of the recipes from her incredible new cookbook. We feasted on fresh and delicious food and enjoyed Lyn’s gracious, warm, and easy-going hospitality. Lyn is a gifted hostess, cook, and artist, serving up love in all that she does. The cookbook is a treat for the eye–truly a beautiful book–with tasty recipes that regular people (like me) can make. I came home inspired and well-fed and so thankful for the love and laughter of family. 🙂
